Jessie's First Day of School

While this is not really part of building the house, I did take a picture in front of what will be the house on Jessie's first day of school. She is making friends, and really likes it.

Concrete walls

The concrete is poured for the basement and the garage. They started framing on Monday, we were so excited and then today we went out and there was NOTHING done. A little bummed. The builder said they would have 8 guys out there tomorrow to get it knocked out!

I think we will really like our new neighbors. They like to drink beer and well I really don't know anything else except they drink beer, so we have to get a long great.... right?!? :)

Helpful Hands

The girls love to go out to the house and see what has happened during the day. I think they really just like to go and play!

We've been making progress

The house is coming along really fast! The first week they got the hole dug, the footers poured the next day, and they came on Saturday to start putting up the basement forms.

The garage looked a little small, and I was worried. Then the next week they poured the basement walls. I think it will be big enough. However Jeff and I discovered last night, that we only have about an inch on each side when I will be pulling in, plenty of room deep, but not that much wide :( We have only pulled it in a 2 car garage, not a single car. Below are photos from the past weeks.

Day 25 in the apartment and NO hole!

Well we are on day 25 of being in the apartment and we still have no hole in the ground. According to our builder we are waiting on the county health department to approve our septic system. I finally got tired of waiting and called them myself yesterday. I bribed them with cookies, and we should have approval today. Actually it had nothing to do with my cookies. The inspector told me she went out to the site, needed to check a few things this morning and then give it to her boss to approve and then we should be able to get going. So hopefully today we will have a hole or at least by tomorrow!!!!! Our builder told me yesterday that he had the framers scheduled to start yesterday.... that is how far behind we are, it just makes me sick!!!!!!!

I have the counter tops picked out, the faucets picked out, the doors and many other things, but yet I have nothing to put them in :)

Hopefully I can post a hole of the ground tomorrow......

Our Lot

Here are pictures of our lot. It's 1.5 acres, in a subdivision in Port Byron, IL.

It took me 3 years, but I finally talked him into it!

I finally talked Jeff into building "our" dream house, ok my dream house and his dream garage and basement (man cave). We sold our house in 3 months, and moved into the luxury apartment (ha ha). It's only for 4 months, no big deal. Well we have been hear since July 21st, and we still do not have a hole in the ground. So our 4 month build may take a little longer.

I will try and down load a picture of the land, and as we progress take pictures.
