Too much Playtime

What mom doesn't want her children to take a nap everyday? I am a firm believer of naps. However with everything going on right now, Jenna's naps have been very sporadic and sometimes she only gets to cat nap. The other day she did not get a nap at all. When Jessie got home from school, we did homework, breathing treatment, and I started dinner. It's all the usual stuff. Jeff was going to be home late, so I went ahead and told the girls to come and eat. Jessie came right away, (the meds she is on right now REALLY gives her an appetite) and Jenna of course didn't come, didn't come, so I went in to check on her...... this is what I found:

She was out! I took a few pictures, and then let her sleep. She woke up about 45 minutes later. When I told her she had fallen a sleep she didn't believe me (because I would lie about that you know) so I had to show her the pictures. She thought it was pretty funny!

I decided that everyone would want to see how the family room turned out : ) I was very worried about how dark the carpet was, because I saw it at night for the first time, but then the next day with all the natural light I decided it's ok.

I wanted to show off my print that inspired my "rust" wall in the 1/2 bath, but the picture didn't turn out very well. So sorry, but I already had down loaded the picture and wasn't taking it off :)
Friday we are getting our dining room furniture, outside frig, and the girls art table from some friends house that have been storing it for us. Saturday we have a couple of friends coming over and two young pups that work for Jeff coming over to help. I am hoping to get our beds, family room furniture and kitchen table moved so we can stay at the new house Saturday night. Then Sunday we will move the rest of the big stuff. I'm hoping by the end of the weekend everything will be moved and Sunday night we can put up our Christmas tree.
The girls keep asking me when we get to put it up, but I think what they really want to know is when are there presents going to be under it!

New Pictures of the house

Well it only took 4 days, 4 friends to help and 2 1/2 trucks loads of sod (1.5 acres). But we finally got all the yard done. On Sunday our friends Chad Ervin and Todd Doyle helped Jeff and I lay the sod in the front and side yard. We ordered another truck load and it arrived on Tuesday. On Wednesday some more friends Ryan and Mike Moore helped us lay some in the back and other side, but it got too warm out and we had to stop because it was getting too muddy. So Friday after Thanksgiving Jeff and I laid the rest of the sod ourselves, and ordered almost another truck load. We laid that by ourselves on Saturday. Sunday we woke up and we had snow on the ground. So we got it done right on time!!! Front yard
This is the only picture I got to take of the back yard. But the rest of the yard got grass as well. I was going to take a picture on Sunday when we went back out to the house, but....

This is the master shower or as everyone refers to it as "Jeff's Shower". He is very excited that he doesn't have to duck to get under the shower head and he can put his arms out and spin around if he wants (Great visual, I know). I on the other hand may have to put a step stool in the shower to reach the shower head!

This is part of the Master Bedroom.

Our Ohio State Office. I got all the cutting in done on Sunday... so glad to be done with all the painting.

Our dining room, off of the foyer.

Our foyer. They matched the handrail stain to our hardwood floors, and we have black wrought iron ballasters (sp?)

Part of our family room. The brown color is the same "poop" color that is in the kitchen. Because it is all open, there was no where to stop the color. I am finally getting used to it.

Jessie's bedroom. She was very upset that I toned down the pink in her room. She wanted all the walls (except the brown wall) to be that hot pink that is in her bathroom.

Todd and Chad trying to figure out the rake! :)
Now that all the painting that Jeff and I have to do is done (Jeff wants to touch up a few places, but for the most part it is finished) and the sod is done, we can focus on getting everything ready to move. The electricians will finish up this week. The plumbers will come on Wednesday to finish up the lights, and the carpet gets laid on Thursday and Friday. We will do a final walk through next week, to see what is left, the cleaning lady comes and we can start putting stuff in the house on Friday. We will move over the weekend, and close on Monday......the 15th. YEAH!!!!!!!!

Missing Baylee

Almost every night we go to Danna's to see Baylee. She has been traveling a lot for work so we have been staying there too. Below is Jenna and Baylee laying on Baylee's chair. Danna has a chair and ottoman that Baylee has decided is hers. She loves that she gets to lay on furniture. She is in for a rude awakening when she finally gets to come home. We went to my parents house for Thanksgiving. The girls love to lay on the floor and scream and Baylee will kiss them.

Jenna and Jeff are seen below. She was cuddling with her dad, and he would tickle her belly. She thought this was very funny.

Birthday Party

Sunday we had a birthday party for Danna and my dad. Below are pictures. Connor Jessie and Jenna

Granny, Jessie and Jenna

Jessie, Jenna, my dad, Danna, Connor, Granny, Mom and my Aunt Sheila.

Cabinets

All the cabinets are in. They turned out very nice, but not exactly what I thought they would be. The alder wood that the cabinet maker used was knotty, so they turned out more "rustic" looking then I would like, but the glaze and color is what I wanted.
This is the desk that is in the kitchen area. The girls will do all there art project here and homework. We will put there computer here, so they don't have to go into the office. This is part of Jessie's vanity. It is much bigger then I expected, which will be very handy the older the girls get. They will have to share this, it will have all the towels and other necessities.

This is the vanity in the master bath. It's extra tall for Jeff, but comes up to my.....chin. Just kidding, but it's rather tall.

Here are two pictures of the kitchen. The cabinet above the stove is not what I wanted. I had a picture of a cabinet like this one to show him some details I wanted, and then gave him another picture of what I really wanted, but needless to say.... I got this one. Oh well.

Kitchen and Office

Above is the kitchen with our two tone walls. I was afraid that the chocolate brown was going to be too dark everywhere. So two walls in the kitchen (one actaully extends into the family room) and the wall that the fireplace is on will be the choc. brown. The other walls in the kitchen, mud room and hallway into the dining room will be that lighter tan that you can see where the butlers pantry will be.
I went to Menards because that is who I had color match the other brown and wanted to know if they could color match the brown again, but add white to it, so that I could take it down a few shades. They said they couldn't so I had to become a paint mixer. After about a gallon of white paint to about 1/4 gallon brown paint we finally got the right color. Now I have to go and get that matched so we can have more.... so much fun.

This is a picture of the office. I was trying to get a picture of the floor, but you can't see it all that well. But then I figured it would be a good oppurtunity to get everyone's opinon on curtains. I'm not sure what I should do for curtains. So if you have any good ideas I'm looking for some! :)
We are painting the girls play room tonight, they want to help, so that should be a lot of fun. I will take some pictures of them "helping".

Halloween Part 2

After we went trick or treating in the "old" neighborhood, we went to the "new" neighborhood. We had been invited to a kids costume party, but it was the same time as Bettendorf's trick or treating. Of course the girls wanted to do both. So we took them to the old neighborhood to trick or treat and then over to Port Byron to go to the party. We didn't realize that it was the night for Port Byron's trick or treating too. So the neighbors took all the kids at the party around the neighborhood on a hayrack and then back to there house for a party. As you will see below the girls had a great time. They both fell asleep on the way home. Jenna asleep in her chair.
Jessie cashed out. I'm sure this was not the safest way to ride, but I didn't realize it until we got home and I took the pic.

Playdate Fun!

Jenna has a lot of friends, but most of her good friends are all boys. Below are pictures from her playdates today and last week. Below her and Ryan are playing Wii. They usually play cars, dress up or Barbies. Thank goodness the girls have boy barbies that he can be. Below are a couple of pictures of Henry and Jenna wrestling. They played really good until Jenny came to pick up Hen, then they thought it would be funny to wrestle. Jenna got two good take downs as you can see.

Tile, Tile and more Tile

Below is a picture of the tile in the guest bath. The upstairs tile and the down stairs tile are in the same family, but the upstairs is actually darker.

I don't know if you can tell the difference or not, but it really is darker above. These are pics. taken of the kitchen. Jeff and I painted the other night. Now we really can paint, but we only painted where the cabinets are going to NOT be. So as you can see there is some white areas, I wasn't very good at following directions, and painted a lot of the areas, that probably didn't need to be painted. Then when Jeff was done cutting in, and I was done doing the roller, we put everything away. That is when he discovered that I obviously was not paying attention, and forgot to paint around the windows. So above you can see the two big white spots on each side of the window... that was supposed to be painted. Oh well. It will need a 2nd possibly 3rd coat, I will get it then. :) I'm sure it's Jeff's fault, I'm just not sure how yet.

Hannah Montana and Diva Witch

As you can see here, Jenna is sporting the ever so popular Hannah Montana halloween costume. The best part is the ever so stylish blonde wig. Jessie is her "model" pose. I have no idea where she gets it from!

Jessie is a "Diva" Witch. I'm not really sure what that is, as she made it up herself. The costume is really a ballerina witch, but she told everyone that she was a diva witch, so I let her go with it.

Lots of fun happening here

My parents neighbor rescued a baby squirel. It still had it's eyes closed when they got it. We took the girls over last weekend for them to see it. It liked being up on Jessie's head. She was very cute and sweet, and the squirel was fun too! Here is Jenna holding it, she was worried it was gong to get away.

Daisy the squirel going up Jessie's arm.

Last night the girls were playing dress up and came out as and I quote " The ChimiChanga Girls" these are Flaminco dresses that Jeff got in Madrid last year. Sorry about the shadow but the lighting in the apartment is awful.

Some New House Pics.

This is the girls play room. I took this before they finished sanding. They now hav the ceiling sprayed w/ texture, the walls are sanded and today they should be putting on the primer. Jeff and I will put the flooring in this weekend and next week. Then we can cut the base and casing and put it up. This is a picture of the family room looking from the kitchen. The whole in the wall is where the fireplace goes. It is in now.

This is the kitchen looking from the fam. room. The door on the left is the door to the mudroom and out to the garage and the other door is for the pantry. You can kind of see the cut out for where the butlers pantry will be into the dining room there on the left.

This is the foyer, just giving you a look at what Jeff and I get to paint. Fun times ahead.

The siding is finally done. They have to add the lights, and another down spout but for the most part it is finished.
Jeff and I will be putting in Sod in the next couple of weeks. We just have to wait until they finish getting the yard graded. Again, great work out and drinking opportunities for anyone who wants to help! :)

I know it's been a while

I know it's been a while but it seems like I havn't had a chance to down load pictures for a while.

Above is the front of the house. They just put the shutters on.

This is theback. You can see the ledger board on the back out the slider. We will put a deck on in the spring.

The girls play room is above the stall that faces the street. That is the garage that the excursion is going in. It is actually door cars deep, so we will have plenty of room to pull it in, but it's BARELY wide enough, so I will have to pull the mirrors in.
