The Play Room

When we moved into the house, anything that said playroom, toy or came remotely close got put in the playroom. The girls got into everything ( I know that is hard to believe) And below you can see what I mean. It took me almost a week to clean it. It didn't help that everytime I would get some progress made, I would be exhausted, so the next day I would start on it again.... and two little play fairies had been in there and messed it up again. Needless you say you can see the before and after pics!

At least now they have a room with all there toys, and if it doesn't get cleaned up I can shut the door.

Now for the bedrooms

Below are pictures of the bedrooms. As you can see not a lot of decorating. This is Jenna's room. It's a dusty rose, with grey and black poodles and plaid. I'm not sure how I'm going to do her curtains yet, so there not up. I do have a few pictures up now, and above her bed I am getting the Upper Case Living letters of her initials. Then her room should be done.
This is part of the master. It's kind of a dark pic. so sorry. As you can see I do have some pictures up. Across from the bed is the entertainment cntr. with our tv. I would like to get a chair for a sitting area too, but that is far down the list.

Here are two pictures of the master vanity. I want to get a big circular clock that will go between the two mirrors. Below is just a closer look at the vanities.

This is the spare bedroom. It is very plain right now. I love how bright it is. But need to add more pictures and furniture.... I have no idea what I am going to do in here, but would eventually like to get some antique furniture.

This is Jessie's room. I can't find the curtain rod I want, so her curtains are not up yet either. I will be putting her name above her bed, again with Upper Case Living, and I'm not sure what else....

Finally New Pictures

It's been over a month since my last post. Between painting, moving, Christmas, and unpacking, I have not had time for much of anything. We moved into the house the weekend of December 15th. The next weekend we went to Ottumwa for Christmas, the girls were going to stay with Mam and Papa so we could get some stuff unpacked and try and get somewhat organized. However our car had other plans. Because of the ungodly cold weather our diesel excursion geled up on me on the highway. Dad and Jeff had to come get, needless to say I was NOT happy. We ended up staying an extra day in Ottumwa. We got home on Tuesday, Christmas was Thursday and we left Thursday afternoon for Ohio to beat the weather. We stayed there 5 days and made it back in time for New Years. As you will be able to see, I have not been able to decorate a whole lot, but at least you can see what we have so far.

This is a close up picture of the kitchen. I was hoping you can see the cabinets a little better then in the picture below. This is just a longer angle of the kitchen taken from the family which is below.

This room is VERY hard to get the furniture placement. Jeff is not making it any easier. He has all kinds of rules that really screwed up how I was going to place everything. Jeff's Martin Chair (if you ever watched Fraiser, his dad had an absolutly awful chair that he refused to get rid of... it's now in my family room) has to be next to the light switches, so he can turn off and on the lights, plus he can see out the window from here, so of course we can't put anything in front of the windows, and he can see the front door from there as well. This leaves no other spot for the ginormous TV.

Off the left of the foyer is the dining room. The only thing I really have in here is the table and hutch, with my grandmothers china. I need a rug and an easel type picture stand ( I obvisously don't know what they are called, but I know what it looks like and that's all that really matters).

Across from the desk in the kitchen is the butlers pantry. I really didn't know what I was going to do with it, but it holds all of our adult beverages nicely! I would show you the desk, but I only had so much time to clean and the desk didn't make this cut, maybe tomorrow....

Too much Playtime

What mom doesn't want her children to take a nap everyday? I am a firm believer of naps. However with everything going on right now, Jenna's naps have been very sporadic and sometimes she only gets to cat nap. The other day she did not get a nap at all. When Jessie got home from school, we did homework, breathing treatment, and I started dinner. It's all the usual stuff. Jeff was going to be home late, so I went ahead and told the girls to come and eat. Jessie came right away, (the meds she is on right now REALLY gives her an appetite) and Jenna of course didn't come, didn't come, so I went in to check on her...... this is what I found:

She was out! I took a few pictures, and then let her sleep. She woke up about 45 minutes later. When I told her she had fallen a sleep she didn't believe me (because I would lie about that you know) so I had to show her the pictures. She thought it was pretty funny!

I decided that everyone would want to see how the family room turned out : ) I was very worried about how dark the carpet was, because I saw it at night for the first time, but then the next day with all the natural light I decided it's ok.

I wanted to show off my print that inspired my "rust" wall in the 1/2 bath, but the picture didn't turn out very well. So sorry, but I already had down loaded the picture and wasn't taking it off :)
Friday we are getting our dining room furniture, outside frig, and the girls art table from some friends house that have been storing it for us. Saturday we have a couple of friends coming over and two young pups that work for Jeff coming over to help. I am hoping to get our beds, family room furniture and kitchen table moved so we can stay at the new house Saturday night. Then Sunday we will move the rest of the big stuff. I'm hoping by the end of the weekend everything will be moved and Sunday night we can put up our Christmas tree.
The girls keep asking me when we get to put it up, but I think what they really want to know is when are there presents going to be under it!

New Pictures of the house

Well it only took 4 days, 4 friends to help and 2 1/2 trucks loads of sod (1.5 acres). But we finally got all the yard done. On Sunday our friends Chad Ervin and Todd Doyle helped Jeff and I lay the sod in the front and side yard. We ordered another truck load and it arrived on Tuesday. On Wednesday some more friends Ryan and Mike Moore helped us lay some in the back and other side, but it got too warm out and we had to stop because it was getting too muddy. So Friday after Thanksgiving Jeff and I laid the rest of the sod ourselves, and ordered almost another truck load. We laid that by ourselves on Saturday. Sunday we woke up and we had snow on the ground. So we got it done right on time!!! Front yard
This is the only picture I got to take of the back yard. But the rest of the yard got grass as well. I was going to take a picture on Sunday when we went back out to the house, but....

This is the master shower or as everyone refers to it as "Jeff's Shower". He is very excited that he doesn't have to duck to get under the shower head and he can put his arms out and spin around if he wants (Great visual, I know). I on the other hand may have to put a step stool in the shower to reach the shower head!

This is part of the Master Bedroom.

Our Ohio State Office. I got all the cutting in done on Sunday... so glad to be done with all the painting.

Our dining room, off of the foyer.

Our foyer. They matched the handrail stain to our hardwood floors, and we have black wrought iron ballasters (sp?)

Part of our family room. The brown color is the same "poop" color that is in the kitchen. Because it is all open, there was no where to stop the color. I am finally getting used to it.

Jessie's bedroom. She was very upset that I toned down the pink in her room. She wanted all the walls (except the brown wall) to be that hot pink that is in her bathroom.

Todd and Chad trying to figure out the rake! :)
Now that all the painting that Jeff and I have to do is done (Jeff wants to touch up a few places, but for the most part it is finished) and the sod is done, we can focus on getting everything ready to move. The electricians will finish up this week. The plumbers will come on Wednesday to finish up the lights, and the carpet gets laid on Thursday and Friday. We will do a final walk through next week, to see what is left, the cleaning lady comes and we can start putting stuff in the house on Friday. We will move over the weekend, and close on Monday......the 15th. YEAH!!!!!!!!

Missing Baylee

Almost every night we go to Danna's to see Baylee. She has been traveling a lot for work so we have been staying there too. Below is Jenna and Baylee laying on Baylee's chair. Danna has a chair and ottoman that Baylee has decided is hers. She loves that she gets to lay on furniture. She is in for a rude awakening when she finally gets to come home. We went to my parents house for Thanksgiving. The girls love to lay on the floor and scream and Baylee will kiss them.

Jenna and Jeff are seen below. She was cuddling with her dad, and he would tickle her belly. She thought this was very funny.
